Keighley Amateurs opened the curtain on their 100th anniversary year on Sunday 28th April with a star-studded concert to a sell-out audience.

Stars of the local stage, that is, with Amateurs favourites past and present treading the boards.

Many of them reprised songs that have been in previous Keighley Amateurs productions at Victoria Hall.

The new show, A Centenary of Song, was performed at Keighley Picture House which is also celebrating its 100th birthday this year.

The 18 musicals featured range from early shows like White Horse Inn and Desert Song through classics like Showboat and Oklahoma! to modern hits like Summer Holiday and Whistle Down the Wind.

Amateurs spokesman David Brett said the show at the North Street cinema, would celebrate 100 years of musicals in Keighley.

He said: “The line-up for this production will include some of the original performers from the shows that we have produced. Many of your favourite songs will be faithfully remastered in technicolour and full stereo by our recent talented stars live on stage!” Performers include Mark Rundle, Keith Marsden, Brogan Holindrake, Ann Tonks, Louise Barton, Peter Whitley, Fiona Spencer and Janine McAndrew
