Rehearsal Pianists
Keighley Musical Theatre Company is looking additional rehearsal pianists to join the society:
The group produces a musical and pantomime each year and we have a regular need for pianists to work alongside the show’s musical director to help the cast get to grips with musical items in rehearsals. Louise Barton, Keighley Musical Theatre Company Chair says “whilst we call on a range of musicians during each show it would be particularly nice to have accompanists who work closely with the society, possibly becoming members and enjoy all the social benefits of being part of an active and successful society.”
The music ranges from the type of songs used in pantomimes through to the more complex styles found in some musicals. Keighley Musical Theatre Company produces a pantomime in January/February each year with rehearsals starting in November and a musical each October where rehearsals will run from May each year. We are currently working towards the musical “The Addams Family”. The group is currently rehearsing at Riddlesden Institute.
If people are interested then they should contact Louise for a chat, without obligation, at Production Team at KMTC or phone 01274 591292.
On Stage
Being part of the Keighley Musical Theatre Company is fun and rewarding, but can also be hard work! We have a growing reputation of putting on amazing shows – the envy of many smaller societies. However, in order to achieve this, we demand the best from all our performers. This means attending all their rehearsals as well as giving 100% at all times!
Talented people are hard to find, and many times people are not even aware of their own talents, so we would always invite everyone to come along to auditions. You might be a star in the making, and we would like to find you!

Off Stage
The cast of a good production will be the first to tell you that they are only as good as the team behind them! Keighley Musical Theatre Company are proud to have a talented and tireless team working behind the scenes, in many cases throughout the year, not just in the run up to a show. We are always on the lookout for more people of any age, who have the time and are willing to put in the effort to help us keep our 100 year (in 2013) reputation for delivering quality shows to our loyal audiences.
Of course it’s not all about getting your hands dirty behind the scenes, there are countless other jobs in the society that simply need doing! Publicity including press releases, designing advertising, producing programmes, cast and show photography, planning, health & safety, organising costumes, props, chaperones and even making the tea at rehearsals… All are important jobs that need doing, and any offer of help is appreciated! During the show, we also need a variety of front-of-house staff to assist with guest needs.
